San Diego "Art Alive"

Art Alive is an annual event for the SDMA and also corresponds with the annual membership drive. This piece with the large sunflower was the mailing envelope for the membership solicitation piece. This piece garnered the highest number of returns and memberships in record time and for an extended period. We convinced the museum to break away from the standard "form letter" that had gone out traditionally, it worked, a huge ROI on this piece.

National Philanthropy Day

This is an identity that was used to promote the San Diego National Philanthropy Day awards presentation event. The event honors those donors in the area who have made significant gifts and are making a difference in the local community. Because these people being awarded, essentially have been given many thank you gifts, we thought it important to give them a gift that was reflective of the event, commemorative, unique. SO, we designed and had a local ceramic artist paint the branded look and feel onto a "cube" for the top donor (Audrey Giesel) and tiles for other significant participants.

USD Science Center Capital Campaign

Working very closely with the development team, lead by Esther LaPorta, we developed a cohesive branded campaign. All of the materials and tools were developed based on input we received from the faculty and staff as well as the development team charged with raising the $45 million or so to build the new Center of Science at USD.

The materials included; 4-journals, a workbook of plans, stationery, annual giving solicitation pieces, gala invitation package and other promotional items.

Helen Woodward Animal Center

We are so proud to share this recent work created for the Helen Woodward Animal Center, under the direction of our long time client, Ms. Esther LaPorta. We were asked to develop an identity along with a series of print collateral materials for the HWAC Capital Campaign.

Working closely with the development team, leadership and dedicated troupe of volunteers, we discovered that the care and protection of animals and the need to inform the public were their key objectives. The design system created champions the important relationships between humans and animals, the circle motif represents the interconnectivity of the important work being done on behalf of animals locally, regionally, nationally and now globally by the folks at HWAC.

The image above illustrates a super smart development brochure design, which includes individual pages, bound together with a giant rubber band. The design enables the HWAC development team to update the piece as the capital campaign progresses, in a cost efficient, creative way. Contents include rough floor plans and renderings depicting the proposed facilities. It's not a slick, finished beauty book, but rather an interactive "workbook" used by the team with potential donors, allowing donors to play a part in the planning and design of the proposed new facilities.

We designed a small "campaign at-a-glance" brochure as well as a series of note cards to be used as invitation shells, thank you cards and gift cards as well as redesigned the existing program brochure - smart economical solutions, ensuring a strong visual identity!
