Tweet Street Park

A small neighborhood park on Cortez Hill in downtown San Diego, complete with meandering tree-lined paths, dotted with colorful banners, and welcoming signage, a playground for children and playfully designed doggy restrooms (fire hydrants with pizzazz).

The park was carefully designed to attract and make a home for the birds in the neighborhood, with creative, well designed artist bird houses, an artfully designed bird bath and flora fauna appropriate for the locals!

The Visual Asylum team named the park and designed the park identity, choose the color palette, designed the signage system, 3 of the 10 bird houses and the colorful fire hydrants. There were dozens of local designers, artists, photographers and illustrators who participated in the bird houses design competition. Some of the local artists included; Lilia Peji, Joel Sotelo, Amy Levine, Jason Janus, Rafael Lopez, Dan Renner, Amy Ennis and many, many others.

Located between 8th and 10th on Date street in Cortez Hill in sunny San Diego California.
